Flipping Websites?

The word “flipping” is usually associated with another term used in a negative light to express your frustration, anger, or outrage. People who drive on the interstate everyday during rush hour have witnessed someone “flipping off” another individual.

What if I could tell you that there is actually a positive experience associated with “flipping?” It involves neither anger nor frustration, but actually a business practice that could lead to amazing wealth and success?

Let’s take a step backwards for a moment.

Do you remember the late 1990’s? A few lucky individuals made a fortune by investing in then little known companies, Microsoft, Yahoo, and Amazon. In actuality these people were anything but lucky. They took the time and research to discover the undiscovered. The result was a pathway to prosperity that they never dreamed they would experience.

A similar market explosion occurred in the early 2000’s when entrepreneurs took the time to learn and invest in the greatest real estate boom in history.

In both scenarios, the formula for wealth was plain and simple: BUY, FLIP, and SELL.

The internet is now experiencing a boom similar to the stock market boom in the 90’s and the real estate boom in the early 2000’s.

Flipping Web Sites

The idea of making money, while never leaving your house is quite tempting. The only business expense you may have to pay for (besides purchasing the web sites) is for your monthly internet bill.

It’s hard to pass up and so it’s little wonder that people like you and I do not want to get involved in flipping web sites.

Think about this for a moment…

What if you were the one to purchase the domain www.business.com and later sold it for over $7 million dollars? What if you were the one who identified first how popular uploading personal videos would become? What if you had the concept like Geocities? Did you know that Yahoo bought Geocities three years later for $3.6 billion dollars?

Not everyone makes billions or even millions of dollars buying and selling web sites (those are the amazing stories) but a lot of people do profit and make a decent income thanks in part to flipping web sites.

So now you understand the concept. Purchase domain names, invest in web sites/ideas, and discover any other way you may profit from the internet. If you’re idea becomes very popular and successful, someone will purchase your web site for mega-bucks.

Think about MySpace for a moment. The original vision for the web site was to create a place where local bands and artists could share their work while networking. Do you think they ever envisioned the site taking off as it now has? Do you know how rich the founders of MySpace are right now?

Timing is everything and now is a great time to take a hold of the internet. The marketplace for buying and selling web sites is growing fast. Thousands if not millions of undervalued and underused web sites exist on the World Wide Web.

However, flipping sites is not as easy as 1, 2, 3. You need to understand the market like any business practice. You need to create a vision, unveil a new idea, and know when, where, and how to profit from it. A lot of your investment will live and die based on the idea. If you have a great idea you will need to make a lot of vital mistakes to screw it up. On the other hand, if you have a bad idea or one that is not original, the chances for profiting if at all are slim.

You need to do your research. You need to understand your market and audience. Advertising on Google, Yahoo, etc as well as getting your web site listed is very important. Your web site can jump off the ground in a matter of days or weeks but it needs to have the right timing and motivation.
